Vlog!
A video summary of last weeks trip to Pitlochry and Nairn
It has been quite some time since we did a vlog! You may remember that we used to do very regular ones, before the time that this blog existed.
We have a treat for you this midweek evening: Chloe has put together a fantastic little vlog with some behind the scenes footage of our last mini-tour. The video covers our trip to Pitlochry for an morning and afternoon school session, sponsored by Perth Chamber music Society, where we worked with three groups of young people before doing a schools performance of some of our current programme. The sessions were lovely - we covered all sorts, from identifying the key features of different periods of quartet music, to some very specific string techniques and work on tone and sound production, to how to lead and play together in a chamber ensemble. After the concert we had one stand out moment where a member of staff came up to us and let us know that it was the first string quartet he had ever seen, and that our playing had moved him to tears! We tend to forget when we play in schools that it isn’t always just the young people who benefit…
